Meet the Management Team

Kevin Pomplun, CEO

The founder and CEO of SkyGrid, Kevin is responsible for setting the overall business direction, as well as the product strategy for the company. He also leads the design of the SkyGrid platform and the development of its core technology and operating infrastructure. His leadership resulted in SkyGrid’s receiving the prestigious Adobe MAX Award for 2007 as one of the most innovative products. Kevin has been a featured speaker at academic, business and technology forums, including Reuters Open Data, O’Reilly Money:Tech, and the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Innovation Forum.

Walt Johnson, Ph.D., Vice President, Operations

Walt was the Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Uppercase, Inc., a tablet PC startup acquired by Microsoft. Prior to that, Walt spent eight years in the User Interface Research Group at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), where he was presented with the Xerox President’s Award and the PARC Excellence in Science and Technology award. He holds 15 United States patents. Walt has also served as the Vice President of Strategic Operations at 12 Entrepreneuring, a business incubator in San Francisco. Walt has a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.

Rok Sosic, Ph.D., Vice President, Engineering

Rok was formerly the founder of Active Tools, a company that was acquired by TurboLinux. He developed ground-breaking software that was deployed on more than 1,000 computers by a premier financial institution. He has written more than 30 published academic papers – one of which was chosen as the best paper at the Supercomputing Conference – and has made as many conference presentations. He holds two United States patents. Rok has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Utah.

Brad Murphy, Director of Sales

Brad was the Director of Corporate Sales and Service for GetMeIn, and part of the management team that facilitated their acquisition by Ticketmaster. Prior to that, Brad spent two years as National Corporate Sales Director for StubHub, where he built the corporate services platform and partnered with over 200 corporate clients. Prior to StubHub, Brad worked for Charles Schwab for eight years in marketing, product development, relationship management and business development. Brad has a passion for helping clients be successful. Brad was an All-American athlete in Nebraska, and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.

Colin McLean, Director of Client Marketing

Colin has over a decade of experience integrating sales, marketing, and engineering to bring innovative products to market. At Akamai Technologies he led teams to accelerate the sales process for new products and held roles in direct and technical sales. Prior to that Colin oversaw product development for travel.500ppm.com, the first retail carbon offset website for vacation travelers, and managed technical infrastructure for the first electronic carbon exchange, CO2e.com, while at Cantor-Fitzgerald. He was an enterprise consultant at Trilogy Software and a developer for electronic warfare projects at the U.S. DoD. Colin has a BSE in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
